Real love

The beginning of love is to let those we love be perfectly themselves, and not to twist them with our own image - otherwise, we love only the reflection of ourselves we find in them. - Unknown

Giving someone all your love is never an assurance that they will love you back! Do not expect love in return, just wait for it to grow in their hearts but if it does not, be content it grew in yours. - Unknown

The Power of Love

Love is so powerful because being loved causes one to love oneself. Nothing contributes to the self-image more than being loved by another. When the words ‘I love you’ are expressed to you for the first time, your world blossoms; your heart glows with inspiration, confidence and thoughts of the mountains you can move. It is more than an emotional kick, suddenly you like yourself more than you ever have before. - Unknown

The cure for all ills and wrongs, the cares, the sorrows and the crimes of humanity, all lie in the one word ‘love’. It is the divine vitality that everywhere produces and restores life. - Lydia Maria Child

Love is the immortal flow of energy that nourishes, extends and preserves. - Smiley Blanton

The supreme happiness in life is the conviction that we are loved - loved for ourselves, or rather, loved in spite of ourselves. - Victor Hugo

Being deeply loved by someone gives you strength; loving someone deeply gives you courage. - Lao-Tzu

Never underestimate the amazing power of love to change hearts and mindsets. Love can even give fresh inspiration to tackle what seems to be impossible. - Unknown

Love is a force more formidable than any other. It is invisible - it cannot be seen or measured, yet it is powerful enough to transform you in a moment, and offer you more joy than any material possession could. - Barbara De Angelis

Love keeps the cold out better than a cloak. - Henry Wadworth Longfellow

The moment you have in your heart this extraordinary thing called love and feel the depth, the delight, the ecstasy of it, you will discover that for you the world is transformed. - J. Krishnamurti

Three Old Ladies And A Flasher

There were three old ladies sitting on a park bench having a quiet conversation when a flasher approached from across the park. The flasher stood right in front of them and opened his trench coat. The first lady immediately had a stroke. Then the second lady also had a stroke. But the third lady being older and more feeble could not reach that far.

Love is ...

Love is a balm that contains the power of healing and of renewing and of everlasting life within its effulgent essence. Love is the great refiner and beautifier. Love is more! Love is the key to every door. It is the creative reality behind every righteous desire and every ardent hope. Love is the cohesive power of the universe as it binds together atoms and substance. It holds families together-the world and the entire universe. If love were withdrawn all things would fall apart and disintegrate. When a human being eliminates love from his life he too begins to fall apart. Love is not only eternal but it is the most desirable element to possess. - Analee Skarin

Love is the master key that opens the gates of happiness. - Oliver Wendell Holmes

Love is like wild flowers. It is found in the most unlikely places. - Unknown

Love is a feeling no words can express. It makes one happy and one depressed. - Unknown

Love is a language the deaf can hear, a song the crippled can dance to, and a sunset the blind can see. - Unknown

Love is the ability to see beyond the faults of another and to discover the beauties of his or her heart. - Unknown

Love is friendship that has caught fire. It is quiet understanding, mutual confidence, sharing and forgiving. It is loyaltly through good and bad times. It settles for less than perfection and makes allowances for human weaknesses. Love is content with the present, it hopes for the future, and it does not brood over the past. It's the day-in and day-out chronicle of irritations, problems, compromises, small disappointments, big victories and working toward common goals. If you have love in your life, it can make up for a great many things that are missing. If you don't have love in your life, no matter what else there is, it's not enough. - Ann Landers

Love

Love - a timeless topic. Much has been said and just as much has been written.

But what exactly is Love?

Love is an emotion which is part of the human build up. It is an intense feeling of liking for a person or an object. The intensity and strength of this emotion varies from person to person, and from object to object.

We all have the capacity to love, to give love - and we all need to be loved. However, like all things in life, love never remains the same for long. It is constantly changing. Sometimes it fades, sometimes it becomes stronger. People can fall quickly and deeply in love, and they can fall out of love, just as quickly and easily.

Since Love is an emotion, it can be controlled. Rein in your emotions. A sensible, practical attitude, and approach will allow you to enjoy this warm, fuzzy feeling call love, be it in giving or receiving – whether it is romantic love, love for a friend, parental love, sibling’s love or just simply the compassionate love of one human being for another.

Crime In The City

Crime was getting so bad in a city. A burglar told the police that he only robs stores in the daytime “….because I’m afraid to be out on the streets at night with so much money.”

I dream….

I dreamed of death the other night
And Heaven's gate swung wide,
An Angel came with halo bright
To usher me inside

And there!! To my astonishment
Stood folks I'd judged and labelled
As "quite unfit" and "of little worth"
And " spiritually disabled."

Indignant words rose to my lips
But never were set free.
For every face showed stunned surprise.
No one expected ME!!

Life’s Little Instructions

Become the most positive and enthusiastic person you know.
Treat everyone you meet like you want to be treated.
Leave everything a little better than you found it.
Think big thoughts but relish small pleasures.
Say “Thank you” and say “please” a lot.
Remember other people’s birthdays.
Strive for excellence, not perfection.
Be forgiving of yourself.
Keep it simple.
Be the first to say, “Hello”.
Don’t expect life to be fair.
Be there when people need you.
Always accept an outstretched hand.
Make new friends but cherish the old ones.
Stop blaming others. Take responsibility for every area of your life.
Don’t be afraid to say, “I made a mistake” or “I don’t know”.
Count your blessings.

Which One Would You Choose?

There were two railway tracks, one still in use while the other was disused. A group of children were playing on the operational track. Only one child played on the disused track.
Suppose the train came, and you were just beside the track interchange. You could make the train change it's course on the disused track and save most of the kids. However, that would also mean the lone child playing by the disused track would be sacrificed. Or would you rather let the train go its way?
Let’s take a pause to think what kind of decision we could make.
Most people might choose to divert the course of the train, and sacrifice only one child. But, have you ever thought that the child choosing to play on the disused track had in fact made the right decision to play at a safe place? Nevertheless, he had to be sacrificed because of his ignorant friends who chose to play where the danger was.
This kind of dilemma happens around us everyday. In the office, community, in politics and especially in a democratic society, the minority is often sacrificed for the interest of the majority, no matter how foolish or ignorant the majority is, and how far-sighted and knowledgeable the minority is.
The child who chose not to play with the rest on the operational track was sidelined. And, in the case, he was sacrificed.
If the train were diverted, that lone child would definitely die because he never thought the train could come over to that track!
Moreover, that track was not in use possibly because it was not safe. If the train was diverted to the track, you could put the lives of all passengers on board at stake! And in your attempt to save a few kids by sacrificing one child, you might end up sacrificing hundreds of people to save these few kids.

While we are all aware that life is full of tough decisions, we may not realize that what’s right isn’t always popular, and what’s popular isn’t always right.

Lawyer and Policeman

A lawyer runs a stop sign and gets pulled over by a policeman.

He thinks that he is smarter than the policeman because he is a lawyer, and is certain that he has a better education than any policeman. He decides to prove this to himself and have some fun at the policeman’s expense!!

Policeman says, "Licence and registration, please."

Lawyer says, "What for?"

Policeman says, "You didn’t come to a complete stop at the stop sign."

Lawyer says, "I slowed down, and no one was coming."

Policeman says, "You still didn’t come to a complete stop. Licence and registration, please"

Lawyer says, "What's the difference?"

Policeman says, "The difference is, you have to come to a complete stop. That's the law. Licence and registration, please!"

Lawyer says, "If you can show me the legal difference between slow down and stop, I'll give you my licence and registration, and you give me the ticket. If not, you let me go and don't give me the ticket."

Policeman says, "Sounds fair. Exit your vehicle, sir."

The Lawyer exits his vehicle.

The policeman takes out his baton and starts beating the lawyer. He says, "Do you want me to stop, or just slow down?"
