Nuggets of Gold

Maxims, adages, axioms... they are short sayings that express a general truth, or rule of conduct. They are universal and testify to the commonality of human existence. Because maxims touch upon universal truths about life, they are looked upon as apparent wisdom, and they win ready assent from the audience. That is why some people call them nuggets of gold.

Pepper your conversations with maxims or adages, and your friends will be impressed with your knowledge and wisdom. Here’s today’s selection to start you off.
