Patient: Doctor, I want to undergo a ‘by-pass
surgery’, what is the probability of success?
Doctor: One hundred per cent
Patient: But how can you be so sure of achieving
one hundred per cent success?
Doctor: On the day of Convocation, my professor
told me that when you practise medicine, chances of failure will be ninety nine
per cent and success one per cent. I have already attended ninety nine patients
and failed to cure them. And you are the hundredth.
