Words of Wisdom

Having taken an interest in Aphorisms, and ‘Words of Wisdom’ from a very young age, I believe the larger part of my life’s education comes from them. I think schools should include the study of Aphorisms in their curriculum.

Aphorisms teach the best life lessons. This is because they embody a general truth, or astute observations. Study the aphorisms. Learn from them to gain a headstart in life, and to understand what life is all about. They will help you in your understanding of this existence, and how to prepare yourself for Life.

Here are some aphorisms for your collection.

The effects of our actions may be postponed but they are never lost. There is an inevitable reward for good deeds and an inescapable punishment for bad. Meditate upon this truth, and seek always to earn good wages from Destiny. - Wu Ming Fu

You are always a valuable, worthwhile human being – not because anybody says so, not because you’re successful, not because you make a lot of money – but because you decide to believe it and for no other reason. - Wayne Dyer

No Vision and you perish; no Ideal, and you’re lost; our heart must ever cherish some faith at any cost. Some hope, some dream to cling to, some rainbow in the sky, some melody to sing to, some service that is high. - Harriet Du Autermont

The way you treat others is the way you treat yourself. True respect for another comes from self-respect. True love for another comes from self-love. True forgiveness for another comes from self-forgiveness. - Unknown

Persistent effort, supported by a character-based foundation, will enable you to get more of the things money will buy and all of the things money won’t buy. - Zig Ziglar

It doesn’t so much matter where you’ve been. All that’s left to discover is where you’re going. A little bit of trust and ‘letting it unfold’ combined with a little bit of muscle and ‘making it happen’ will enhance the outcome tremendously. - Paul S. Boynton

If you can react the same way to winning and losing, that is a big accomplishment. That quality is important because it stays with you the rest of your life. - Chris Evert

Put it before them briefly so they will read it, clearly so they will appreciate it, picturesquely so they will remember it and, above all, accurately so they will be guided by its light. - Joseph Pulitzer
