I don't necessarily view death as something
negative. Death gives meaning to life. Living in fear of death is living in
denial. Actually, it's not really living at all, because there is no life
without death. It's two sides of the one. You can't pick up one side and say,
"I'm just going to use the 'heads' side." No. It doesn't work like
that. You have to pick up both sides because nothing is promised to anyone in
this world besides death. - Unknown
Death is simply a shedding of the physical
body, like the butterfly coming out of a cocoon. It is a transition into a
higher state of consciousness, where you continue to perceive, to understand,
to laugh, to be able to grow, and the only thing you lose is something you
don't need anymore … your physical body. It's like putting away your winter
coat when spring comes. - Elisabeth
Kubler-Ross
Death can come at any moment. You could die this
afternoon; you could die tomorrow morning; you could die on your way to work;
you could die in your sleep. Most of us try to avoid the sense that death can
come at any time, but its timing is unknown to us. Can we live each day as if
it were our last? Can we relate to one another as if there were no tomorrow? - Joan Halifax
