The Lawyer And The Traffic Policeman

              A lawyer runs a stop sign and gets pulled over by a traffic policeman.

              He thinks that he is smarter than the traffic policeman because he is a lawyer, and is certain that he has a better education than any traffic policeman. He decides to prove this to himself and have some fun at the traffic policeman’s expense!!

               Traffic policeman says, "Licence and registration, please."

              Lawyer says, "What for?"

              Traffic policeman says, "You didn’t come to a complete stop at the stop sign."

              Lawyer says, "I slowed down, and no one was coming."

              Traffic policeman says, "You still didn’t come to a complete stop. Licence and registration, please"

              Lawyer says, "What's the difference?"

              Traffic policeman says, "The difference is, you have to come to a complete stop. That's the law. Licence and registration, please!"

              Lawyer says, "If you can show me the legal difference between slow down and stop, I'll give you my licence and registration, and you give me the ticket. If not, you let me go and don't give me the ticket."

              Traffic policeman says, "Sounds fair. Exit your vehicle, sir."

              The Lawyer exits his vehicle.

              The traffic policeman takes out his baton and starts beating the lawyer. He says, "Do you want me to stop, or just slow down?"

An Aspirin A Day May Keep Cancer Away

              Taking aspirin every day may significantly reduce the risk of many cancers and prevent tumours from spreading.

              The findings in two new British studies published on Tuesday add to evidence suggesting that aspirin may be a powerful if overlooked weapon against cancer. But the research also poses difficult questions for doctors and public health officials, as regular doses of aspirin can cause gastrointestinal bleeding and other side effects.

              Researchers at the University of Oxford found that after three years of daily aspirin, the risk of developing cancer was reduced by almost 25 per cent, compared with a control group not taking aspirin. After five years, the risk of dying of cancer was reduced by 37 per cent among those taking aspirin.

              A second paper analysing five large studies in Britain found that over six and a years on average, daily aspirin use reduced the risk of cancer spreading to other parts of the body by 36 per cent, and the risk of adenocarcinomas – common solid cancers including colon, lung and prostate cancer – by forty-six per cent.

              “In terms of prevention, anyone with a family history would be sensible to take aspirin,” said study leader Peter Rothwell.

Fishing Trip

              A man called home to his wife and said, "Honey I have been asked to go fishing up in Canada with my boss & several of his Friends. We'll be gone for a week. This is a good opportunity for me to get that promotion I've been wanting, so could you please pack enough clothes for a week and set out my rod and fishing box. We're leaving from the office & I will swing by the house to pick my things up. Oh! Please pack my new blue silk pyjamas too."

              The wife thinks this sounds a bit fishy but being the good wife she is, did exactly what her husband asked.

              The following weekend he came home a little tired but otherwise looking good.

              The wife welcomed him home and asked if he caught many fishes?

              He said, "Yes! Lots of Salmon, some Bluegill, and a few Swordfish. But why didn't you pack my new blue silk pyjamas like I asked you to?"

              The wife replied, "I did. They're in your fishing box........."
