Love

Love is that condition in which the happiness of another person is essential to your own. Jealousy is a disease, love is a healthy condition. The immature mind often mistakes one for the other, or assumes that the greater the love, the greater the jealousy. - Robert Heinlein

I like not only to be loved, but also to be told that I am loved. I am not sure that you are of the same kind. But the realm of silence is large enough beyond the grave. This is the world of light and speech, and I shall take leave to tell you that you are very dear. - George Eliot

To love the one who loves you, To admire the one who admires you, In a word, to be the idol of one’s idol, Is exceeding the limit of human joy; It is stealing fire from heaven. - Delphine De Girardin

Love is the ability and willingness to allow those that you care for to be what they choose for themselves, without any insistence that they satisfy you. - Wayne Dyer

If a person loves only one other person and is indifferent to all others, his love is not love but a symbiotic attachment, or an enlarged egotism. - Erich Fromm

Love... Force it and it disappears. You cannot will love, nor even control it. You can only guide its expression. It comes or it goes according to those qualities in life that invite it or deny its presence. - David Seabury

Love is that splendid triggering of human vitality, the supreme activity which nature affords anyone for going out of himself toward someone else. - Jose Ortega Gasset

Many people talk about loving others. When you care about the other person’s desires, feelings and well being more than you care about your own, then you know you have love for that person. Until you have that, it’s just talk. - Unknown

Love never dies a natural death. It dies because we don’t know how to replenish its source. It dies of blindness and errors and betrayals. It dies of illness and wounds; it dies of weariness, of witherings, of tarnishings. - Unknown
