Epiphyllum Oxpetalum

The name of this flower is Epiphyllum Oxpetalum – commonly known as ‘Queen of the Night’. The flowers bloom after sunset for one night only. It has a nice pungent fragrance.

I think I have affinity with this plant/flower. I came upon a couple of stalks of the plant discarded by my neighbour, and stuck them in my pot. They were in bad shape and I was sure already 99 percent dead. But I thought I would gave it a try anyway. However, they are very hardy plants, and after some time in the pot, they sprouted new branches. They are actually quite healthy now, and have been flowering frequently. I am very pleased.
