Life - Quotes

There’s so much more to life than finding someone who will want you, or being sad over someone who doesn’t. There’s a lot of wonderful time to be spent discovering yourself without hoping someone will fall in love with you along the way, and it doesn’t need to be painful or empty. You need to fill yourself up with love. Not anyone else. Become a whole being on your own. Go on adventures, sit in a coffee shop on your own, dress up for yourself, give to others, smile a lot. Live for yourself and be happy on your own. It isn’t any less beautiful, I promise. - Emery Allen

The saddest thing in the world is a person who has given-up on life; whose fire has been extinguished. Just remember that as long as you are alive the animating spark of greatness is still within you and can be rekindled. it's never too late! As long as there is life there is hope. - Bryant McGill

Four Warning Signs That Warn You, That Your Body Lacks Water

Water makes up over 2/3 of our body, but all too often we replace water with other beverages and forget to drink enough of it. But, the truth is when you begin to feel thirsty you are already dehydrated. Think about how many times do you reach for a beverage during the day to quench a thirst?

When you are dehydrated, your body is below the required limit for the normal functioning of the body. Don’t wait to become thirsty to reach for the water, when these signs hit pick it up and drink some water!

There are many things that lead to fatigue, but if you feel tired during the day it could be because you reach for the caffeine to often and not for the water enough. First thing in the morning have a glass of lukewarm water; it helps to wake you up better than coffee, and it will wake up the liver and digestive system as well.

Dry Skin
Chances are if you are dry on the outside, you are running dry on the inside as well. Don’t use lotions and cream to cover up the problem, have some water instead.

Water helps to lubricate the digestive tract; it also helps to keep the moisture inside the intestines. When you are not consuming enough water, you will more than likely have problems with bowel function.

Headaches are a sign that you need water, so when you get one skip the chemicals and down some water.

Remembering Mr Lee Kuan Yew

Mr Lee Kuan Yew, the first Prime Minister and founding father of Singapore, passed away on the 3rd of march 2015. He and his party took Singapore, little more than a backward fishing island back in 1965, and transformed it into what it is today. The result speaks for itself.

Unless you are a Singaporean, and grew up during the early years of Independence, it might be a bit difficult to envisage and appreciate what Mr Lee has done.

Mr Lee was clever, brave, bright and brilliant of mind, far-sighted,  determined, no-nonsensical, and one who is not afraid to speak his mind - all qualities of a great leader. He was also a doting father and loving husband. He devoted his life to Singapore, moulding, shaping the island through the years, improving the life of the people. And rightfully, Singaporeans mourn his passing.

During his Lying in State in Parliament House, people queued for up to 10 hours just to pay their last respects and say good-bye to him. When the funeral procession left Parliament House, people lined the 15.4 km route in the afternoon amid a torrential downpour, shouting his name and waving the Singapore flag. A very touching scene indeed.

Dignitaries and foreign leaders, near and far were amongst the admirers of Mr Lee. They, too, came to pay their last respects, and say their good-byes.

Words can’t describe my respect and gratitude for this great man and great leader, and for what he went through, what he did for Singapore. Without Mr Lee, there would be no Singapore such as it is today. He made me proud to be a Singaporean.

Thank you Mr Lee. I am forever grateful to you! You will be missed!
