Famous Treasure

Last Friday, I was out with some friends for dinner, celebrating a birthday. We went to the Famous Treasure restaurant.
‘Famous Treasure’ is a Chinese restaurant serving Nanyang fare. (Nanyang is a Chinese term referring to Southeast Asia). Located on level 2 of Capitol Singapore, Famous Treasure offers guests a feast of local Chinese favourites and seafood signatures – a cuisine of Teochew, Hokkien and Cantonese cultures assimilated into Southeast Asia. They have been around since 2018.

As usual, I left the ordering of food to the others. They dine out more often and they know better what is good. One of the mates did a collage of the food items. Since I didn’t look at the menu, I don’t know the correct names of the dishes. Apart from the Peking duck and Volcano chicken, there was pork, chicken, vegetables, soup, cockles, noodles and prosperity buns – quite a sumptuous selection.

Since it was a birthday celebration, there was cake after dinner too. All in all, it was a very pleasant evening. We all had a great time on Friday evening. Good company, good wines and good food.

We were given a private room. That was very nice. Maybe they knew that we were bound to be noisy and did not want us to disturb the other guests, or perhaps it was because the birthday boy had entertained clients there before and they appreciate his patronage.
