Flower Dome

The flower dome at the Gardens by the Bay in Singapore features a flower field with a changing display every two or three months, and eight other gardens, namely The Baobabs, Succulent Garden, Australian Garden, South African Garden, South American Garden, Olive Grove, California Garden and the Mediterranean Garden. These eight gardens exhibit exotic flowers and plants from the Mediterranean and semi-arid regions from five different continents.

At 1.2 hectares, the flower dome was listed in 2015 Guinness World Records as the largest glass greenhouse in the world. In the dome, it is perpetual Spring. You can stroll through the gardens and be awed by the plants and flowers from five continents in comfort.

The Flower Dome is Column-less. It took me some time to realize that. I knew something was missing, but I didn't know what it was. The dome looks kind of spacious and empty. It was when I read in the website that the Flower Dome has no column that it dawned on me. There is not a single column.

I took heaps of pictures on my visits. Follow me if you are interested to see what else is in the dome. Here are some pictures from my one of my visits.

These Encephalartos horridus, also known as Eastern cape blue cycad are from the succulent garden.
Gardenia thumbergia
Some wooden sculptures
Google lens identified these as white petunias. They are beautiful.
I am not sure what these beautiful flowers are. If you know what they are called, do let me know.
