Parlesy, Sage, Rosemary and Thyme

Last Saturday, my friend Ernest invited some friends and I over to his place for lunch. He cooked a lovely lunch for four – including himself.

1. Traditional Hungarian Paprika Chicken

2. Sautés Garlic Prawns

3. Butter button Mushrooms

4. Baked Aubergine (eggplant) with Cheese and Tomato

5. Pasta

All the dishes were absolutely delicious. The pictures speak for themselves – except maybe the Aubergine. It was a little overcooked, the chef having forgotten about it in his excitement in seeing us. Still, it was very nice. The generous use of herbs and spices really brought out the flavour and taste of the dishes.

After lunch, we sat around and chit chat. In between, there were beverages, fruits, desserts and snacks. It was a lazy Saturday with good company and plenty of food. It was 9 pm by the time we left. The afternoon just flew pass. I really enjoyed the afternoon very much.

They say to have a friend is to have a treasure. Well, to have a friend who is also a great cook is treasure beyond measure!
