Chinatown And The Surrounding

Things are a lot quieter in Chinatown now as compared with the days just before the Chinese New Year. I was down in the area for dinner with some friends, and took the opportunity to have a look at how the place was doing.

The busiest restaurant in Chinatown, because of its strategic location. They must be suffering too. The rental itself cost an arm and a leg. For the two years, business had been just dreadful.

A train station (Chinatown Station) right in the heart of the Chinatown.
There were a few tourists, but not enough to make a difference.
A gift shop, of which there are many, empty of customers.
The Chinatown Complex. It houses a wet market in the basement, shops on the ground level, a hawker center on the first floor and apartments above.
The Chinatown square. The stage is for performances during festive celebrations.
In front of the stage is a installation of tiger effigies - it being the Year of the Tiger.
This is the back of the Buddha Tooth Temple.
