Friends and Friendship

There is a Chinese saying that goes, loosely translated, like this: "At home you count on your parents, outside of your home you count on your friends." And another that goes: "Drinking with a true friend, a thousand cups is not enough." Such are sayings in praise of friendship and the importance of having friends.

To be there for your friend in his/her time of need. That is what being a friend means. And that is why we need friends, true friends who will stand by us in our hour of need. If you have such a friend, you are rich, you have a treasure.
