We tend to stick to our opinions of a person, even after not having been in contact, or see them for a while. While some people do not change, some do. Sometimes, people move on, and changed for the better. And our outdated opinion of them could be very wrong. We should bear that in mind. The bully in your class might now be an outstanding figure in the community now. Or the nerd in your class might be a CEO of a multinational company now. Don’t hold his past against him. He doesn’t live there anymore. He has moved on, and you should too.
