This is the weekend of the San Juan Celebration. Apparently, it is the biggest local celebration. As such the town center was a bit busier than usual. The restaurants in town and in the squares were already busy.
Luckily we were not dining at the town center. Our restaurant was off the High street. Still, there was some spillover and the restaurants off the High Street were also busy. Luckily our friends were already there, and they were able to secure a table.
There were eight of us at the dinner last night. Some left shortly after dinner, while the rest of us carried on and had a few more drinks at the restaurant. As the evening went on, we saw more and more locals on the streets heading in the direction of the Feria, and later, presumably heading for home.
The restaurant was very busy. There was a continuing flow of diners. The restaurant staff, which was already on minimum strength, were rushed off their feet.
It was past midnight when it all quiet down, and we called it a night.
Lovely bed of latana flowers along the road. Leson la Espiga - that was the restaurant we went to, a local Spanish restaurant. I had the grilled salmon. It was very nice. Passing the squares on our way home, we saw that quite a few of the restaurants were still open and there were still people about. Some ladies were dressed in their traditional flamingo dresses.
