The week-long festival started last night – the eve of San Juan, with barbecues, bonfires, fireworks, food and drinks along the beaches. This stayed on till quite late. Some people stayed till the morning.
There will also be a feria (fair) in celebration of the San Juan festival. As with any fair, there will be food, drinks, music and dance, rides and games... San Juan is one of the biggest local celebrations.
While out for a walk yesterday, I saw workmen setting up tents and decorations in preparation for the opening. Some were testing and putting the final touches to rides.
