Night-blooming Cereus

My very own night-blooming cereus bloomed two nights ago. Of the six buds, four bloomed two nights ago, and the other two bloomed last night.

Night-blooming cereus is the common name referring to a large number of flowering ceroid cacti that bloom at night. Other names include queen of the night, Princess of the Night or Lady Cereus, and Orchid Cactus.

Cacti have spines or spikes, but the night blooming cereus do not have any. The most notable feature of the night-blooming cereus is the big, white, beautiful and fragrant flower. Unfortunately, they bloom only at night and their blooms last only a few hours.

Here are some photos from the bloom two nights ago.
