The Moon,And Venus

A couple of nights ago, we were sitting out on the balcony after dinner, when we saw the new moon. Shortly afterwards when it was dark enough, we saw Venus too.
On the first night, the moon was to the left of Venus.
On the second night, the moon was to the right of Venus.
They stayed for a while before disappearing behind the mountains.

The moon showed up an hour later each night until it was too late for us to follow it any more.
