Chinatown

Chinatown is a buzzing ethnic district and historic area. The other very important attraction of Chinatown is the food. There are many eateries – restaurants, coffee shops, food courts, hawker centers and stalls. Foodies are spoilt for choice. Do they want to dine in comfort, in a nice, air conditioned restaurant, or do they want to go to the hawker centers where the food is cheap and good.

During the Covid pandemic, Chinatown was, understandable, quite dead. Now, the place is more or less its former self, buzzing with tourists and locals.

When my overseas friends were here recently, we went down to Chinatown on quite a few occasions. Usually we talk a quick walk around the area to see what’s new before going in search of food. There are many new businesses, replacing the older ones that didn’t survive the pandemic.

Here are some pictures of Chinatown taken before we went for our dinner.

The Chinatown train station. Out of the station and you are in the heart of Chinatown.
