Snippets of Wisdom

The beauty of proverbs, axioms, maxims.... is that within the few simple words, there is great wisdom, carried down through generations, some through centuries. Some might sound cliché, but they are also deep truth (as clichés tend to be). Some of these short phrases have profound lessons which, unless we take time to contemplate, we would have missed the lessons they are imparting.
