A sign on the tree trunk said they are Phoenix Canriensis, or commonly known as the Canary Island Date Palm. And where do you think they originated from? Canaray Islands, of course.
According to Wikipedia -
“Phoenix canariensis is a relative of Phoenix dactylifera, the true date palm. Mature Phoenix canariensis are often used in ornamental landscaping and are collected and transplanted to their new planting location. A Canary Island date palm with 10 m (30 ft) of trunk is approximately 60 years of age.”
So, these date palms in the dome are most probably transplanted from the Canary Islands.
