Cafes And Restaurants In Arroyo la de Miel

There are many cafes and restaurants in Arroyo la de Miel. You will find a little cafe or restaurant at almost every other block of building, and at a side street or alley – of which there are many. Most of these small local restaurants are tucked away. You have to live in the area to know they existed. They serve mainly the locals living in the area.

I think if I were to dine in a different restaurant every day, it would still take me a couple of years to go through them all. So, you can imagine how competitive the restaurant business is.

On the main street, or the town center where there are tourists, the cuisines are more international. The restaurants are bigger and they fare better because they do a fair bit of tourist trade.

We eat out two or three times a week. But Roger and I, and his friends usually go to the same restaurants. The restaurant owners appreciate that. They are friendly and from time to time we get a free drink on the house.

Other reasons why we stick with the same few restaurants are the cafes and restaurants serve more or less the same things, and most of the local staff don’t speak a lot of English. So, it is better to go to the ones we are comfortable with.
