These green and neatly trimmed trees are orange trees. They are quite commonly seen by the side of the roads in Arroyo, and in people’s gardens and courtyards.
The trees are planted for shade and ornamental. This variety of oranges are too bitter and sour to be eaten. However, they can be made into marmalade.
Orange trees blossom in March, and ripens during winter time. There are oranges in the trees now, but they are camouflaged by the green leaves. You do not know they are there unless you look.
