Anger

No matter how sweet our temperament and nature is, we still get angry once in a while – at things, at people, at ourselves, at situations …etc. That is only natural because we are human beings after all.

Sometimes, things don’t go our way. We become frustrated and irritable and if someone or something comes along to agitate us, we will simply burst out without thinking. We know that it is not fair of us to burst out, but in that instant, we are beyond reasoning. After we have calmed down, we become angry with ourselves for being angry and hurting someone else when he or she was not at fault.

Often, being angry does not solve any problems. If anything, our response, when we are angry only makes things worse. Bearing that in mind, we should learn to control our anger, and refrain from words and actions until the moment of anger has passed.

Try to understand why you are angry, what caused you to be angry, so that the next time when a similar situation arises, you will know to curb your anger. Quite often, you will find that given time to cool off, you will wonder why you were so angry over something so trifling when you could have just walked away and let it go instead.

"Anger is a choice, as well as a habit. It is a learned reaction to frustration, in which you behave in ways that you would rather not. In fact, severe anger is a form of insanity. You are insane whenever you are not in control of your behaviour. Therefore, when you are angry and out of control, you are temporarily insane." - Wayne W. Dyer
