Buffet Dinner

I went out for dinner with my mates on Friday. We went to the ‘Plate’ restaurant in the Carlton City Hotel. The hotel is an upscale 29-story designer hotel in Tanjong Pagar, within the Central Business District. It is a two-minute walk from Tanjong Pagar MRT station. That was convenient.

The hotel has a two for the price of one buffet dinner promotion during this National Day celebration period. Someone in the group suggested that we go there for the birthday celebration of a mate in the group.

Buffets are not really my kind of thing. But, the birthday boy has the final say.

The restaurant’s décor and design were not outstanding. I would say they were rather plain for a 5-star hotel.

The buffet spread was not something to write home about. You see them at all the other buffets. The cold seafood was all right. The main selling point was the suckling pig. That was all right although it would have been better if they were hot.

Anyway, we took our time finishing our dinner while we caught up with what is happening in our lives. A pleasant evening was had by all.

A couple of night shots of the surroundings when we were leaving. I haven’t been to the area for a while. The landscape has changed much since.
