A Walk in the Gardens

The Gardens by the Bay, spanning 101 hectares of reclaimed land in the Central region of Singapore, is Singapore’s premier urban outdoor recreation space, and a national icon. It is Singapore’s pride and joy.

Comprising three waterfront gardens, Bay South Garden, Bay East Garden and Bay Central Garden, the Gardens by the bay is a showcase of horticulture and garden artistry that will bring the world of plants to Singapore and present Singapore to the world.

It is always a pleasure to visit the Gardens. There is much to see, to revisit. There is always something going on, some festival celebrations, events, and new attractions. It is an on-going job keeping the garden interesting, and attractive.

That is why it is Singapore’s number tourist spot and also a hit with the locals. If you ever come this way, make sure you make time for a visit to the Gardens by the Bay.

Here are some pictures of the Gardens from my recent visit. Enjoy.

Supertrees.

Dragonfly lake.

Crescentia Cujete, commonly known as the calabash tree, with big fruits resembling that of polemos.

Cycas Pectinata plant

A stone sculpture of a bull.

A Chinese totem – an ornamental stone column often seen in traditional Chinese architecture. Traditionally crafted with marble or jade, it features an intricately carved dragon coiled around the column as a symbol of authority and prosperity.

These look like Ashoka flowers, but I have never seen white Ashok flowers before.
This flower looks like a caterpillar from afar.

Lovely palms

No idea what this bushy tree is.
