Satay by the Bay is an outdoor food place where you get to sample all the local favourites at a reasonable price. It is a good place to have a meal, sampling all the different kinds of food, while you bond with your friends or family. There are many food stalls there. You will be spoilt for choice.
I was there last Thursday with a friend, after a wander in the Gardens. There were so many nice things to try. We got a bit carried away and order a little too much.
This was the appetizer.. Mushrooms with cheese.
These are Satays. Satays are small pieces of meat skewed and barbecued. They are served with cucumbers, onions and peanut sauce. You have a choice of chicken, beef, or pork.
This is barbequed stingray, another favourite dish of the locals. The stingray is wrapped in banana leave and barbecued. It is then slathered with Sambal, a chilli paste and served with slices of onions, and a calamansi, to be squeezed over the dish.
A dish of baby Kailan stir-fried with garlic.
This is oyster omelette.
This is beancurd with cheese - a weird combination. They didn't turned out to be quite what we expected. They tasted more like fish-cake.
So there you have it. Six dishes and a bowl of rice, washed down with a jug of beer. It was way too much for me, and my friend who's a big boy with a big appetite, too.
