Super Trees

They are called super trees. There are 18 of them in the Gardens by the Bay. Each is about 50 meters tall. They are covered in plants, and each tree is itself a vertical garden with more than 200 species of plants and flowers.

According to their website, “Eleven of the Super trees are embedded with environmentally sustainable functions. Some have photovoltaic cells on their canopies to harvest solar energy for lighting up the Super trees, while others are integrated with the Conservatories and serve as air exhaust receptacles.”

In one of the ‘Super tree grove’, there is a “suspended aerial bridge known as the ‘OCBC Skyway’ between two of the Super Trees.” If you not not afraid of heights, you can go up there and have a good view of the garden.

In the evening, there is “‘Garden Rhapsody’, a signature light and sound show of the Gardens by the Bay” where the super-trees are “transformed into a beautiful display of lights.”

The following pictures of super trees in the day, and evening, were taken over several visits. Enjoy.
