Lillies

There are more than 100 species, and many cultivated varieties of lilies. Most lilies grow from bulbs, which in some species develops into a rhizome, carrying small bulbs. They thrive best in partial shades. Tubers allow the plants to store water and nutrients. Hence, if you give them too much water, the roots will riot. The blooms can last up to two weeks. This makes them very suitable, and popular for bouquets.
