Egrets

Egrets resemble flamingoes, but they are actually any number of several species of herons. They are long-legged wading birds that have white or buff plumage. These sweet looking birds are carnivorous. They feed on small fishes, crustaceans, amphibians and small animals.

Egrets are considered an endangered species.

A couple of photos of an egret foraging for food in the monsoon drain. Their long legs allow them to wade through waters looking for food.

They are very sensitive birds. They flew away at the first sign of movement. I could never get close enough for a decent picture.
