Weekend Gathering

I met up with some old classmates from my Beverage Service Course from 1986. The gathering took place at one of the mates home. Ernest, the host invited us to his place for afternoon tea and dinner.

We started the gathering at 3.30 with snacks - open sandwiches with herbs cream Cheese, smoked cheese, mushroom pate, oriental pepper smoke duck, followed by chocolates and a selection of cakes.

For dinner, Ernest prepared a seafood platter of baked salmon with herbs, butter pan fried paprika prawn, octopus with garlic and sautéed spicy turmeric marinated squid, and creamy Tuscan butter chicken serve with fragrance rice.
A nibble of this and a nibble of that, and it was quite enough.
After dinner, there were fresh fruits, and ice creams. As in previous meets, it was a day of eating.

We had a great time catching up. The food was nice, the company was good. It was one of those little pleasures in life. An afternoon well spent.
