Tulipmania – Part I

Tulipmania – that is the name of the Tulips Floral display in the Flower Dome in the Gardens by the Bay. The display is held in collaboration with the Embassy of Türkiye in Singapore.

The name “Tulip” was derived from the shape of the flower that resembled the turban (dulbend or tülband) of Sultans of the Ottoman Empire, now known as Türkiye. Tulips come in a wide variety of vivid colours, with each colour signifying a different meaning.

Tulips are native to Eastern Türkiye and were first cultivated by the Ottomans. It is also the Türkiye’s national flower and interwoven into the country’s culture and history.

Tulipmania: Origins of the Tulip is on from now till 21 May 2023 at the Flower Dome. Admission charges apply.
