Dahlias

Dahlias are such pretty flowers. Their blooms are big and prominent. They are always the first to catch my attention at the flower dome.

Dahlias are perennial plants with tuberous roots, and are one of 32,000 species from the Asteraceae family. According to Wikipedia, the Dahlia was declared the national flower of Mexico in 1963.

Here are some photos of Dahlias I took at the Flower dome. I am quite pleased that they turned out a lot better than I expected.
