Kampong Glam is also known as the Arab street area. It is a key Muslim centre in Singapore. Other streets nearby are also named after Arabian cities – like Bussorah Street, Muscat Street, Baghdad Street....

The streets are lined with two-storey shop-houses with traditional Muslim eateries, textile and handicraft and specialty shops. It’s an area with lots of Muslim activities and rich for its cultural blend.
The Sultan Mosque, a landmark in the Kampong Glam Malay Heritage District is the largest mosque in Singapore.
