Frangipani Flower

The horticultural name for the frangipani is Plumeria – a genus of flowering plants found in tropical areas. Frangipani is the common name, but it also goes by other names according to the country it is found in.

They are easy to plant and are common around here. The flowers are white, yellow, or multi-coloured. The centre of the flower has a different colour to the rest of the flower. The flowers are very beautiful, and they have a nice fragrant which some described as ‘sophisticated, lush, and rich’. They are perennials. They bloom throughout the year.

Frangipani is an ingredient in products like fragranced soaps, candles, massage oils, and potpourris. Some people float the flowers in a bath, or a bowl of water to get the feel of a relaxing effect of a spa day.

There are many myths and legends associated with the frangipani flower – some are supernatural. Although there is no scientific proof, people who are superstitious will not plant frangipanis in their gardens.

Frangipani trees are not very tall.
