The Garden - An Art Exhibition

I went to an art exhibition yesterday. My friend, Ernest Chan the artist, has an exhibition of some of his paintings and ceramic works.

Some of you would remember me talking about Ernest. He is also a good cook and likes to entertain. About once a month, he would invite a group of us to his house for a meal – a get together.

The Exhibition is titled The Garden. “For Ernest Chan, gardens are spaces in which encounters with nature refresh the spirit and provide refuge from existential anxieties. Through paintings and ceramic sculptures, Ernest Chan uses the garden as a metaphor that visualises the deep connections between the primal experience of nature, and the restorative effect produced by the work of tending to a garden.” That is the theme of the exhibition.

The exhibition is on until the 4th of February. Exhibition hours are from 1:00pm – 7:00pm Wednesday to Sunday, Closed on Mondays, Tuesdays and Public Holidays. Admission is free.

You can have a look at the e-catalogue 👉 HERE

This is the building in which the exhibition is held.

This is my favourite piece of work. Someone else felt the same way too. It was sold.
This is another nice piece.
These are his sculptures. A mushroom series. Do they look like mushrooms to you?
